Find your expression through contemporary dance
Explore expressive movement and technique, open to all levels.
Contemporary
Open to all ages and levels, this contemporary class blends modern and contemporary techniques for anyone who enjoys moving to music and wants to dance with more confidence and freedom. Ideal for beginners, returning dancers, and experienced movers alike, the class builds short phrases of choreography from week to week so you don’t just learn steps, you’ll really dance them. Challenging the idea of the front-facing “TikTok dancer,” the focus is on three-dimensional, full-body movement: travelling through space, using breath, musicality and expression. A supportive, welcoming class where technique, creativity and confidence grow together.
Jenna
Jenna is a contemporary dance artist and facilitator. She trained with the National Youth Dance Company, performing in Akram Khan’s The Rashomon Effect, before continuing her training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she performed works by Matthew Slater, Joss Baker and Hannes Langolf.
Jenna has danced with DV8 and toured nationally as part of the Jasmin Vardimon 2 Postgraduate Programme. She has performed at venues and festivals across the UK and internationally, most recently appearing in Anatomical’s Snowed In at Brighton Dome and The Lowry, and Sababa Co.’s Coiled Up. Alongside this, Jenna frequently performs her own choreographic work and collaborates across art forms to create bold, original projects.
In her classes, Jenna encourages freedom, musicality and full-bodied movement, creating space for dancers to move with confidence, curiosity and - most importantly - enjoyment. She offers clear guidance on technique and precision while supporting dancers to find their own groove.
