Come learn this beautiful dance of connection and improvisation! This series is for beginners who want an introduction and solid foundation for learning Argentine Tango. Jessica has been teaching tango for more than a decade, studying in Buenos Aires and Washington, D.C., and she has an enthusiasm for tango that is contagious. Class is open to everyone, no partner required.

Argentine Tango - Taster Class

Jess


Jessica has always loved studying body movement, and began training in martial arts at the age of 8. She earned her black belt in Taekwondo at age 15 and continued to practice martial arts through college.

After graduating and influenced by her Argentine heritage, Jessica began studying Argentine Tango in 2007 with Pablo Fontana and Flavia Fernandez. She also studied with Sol Orozco, Juan Cantone, Martin Maldonado, Maurizio Ghella, Marcelo Gutierrez, and the DNI Tango School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2011, Jessica began co-hosting a Washington, DC-area weekly tango practice with 70+ attendance, now 14 years running. In 2014, Jessica began teaching and performing around the Washington, DC area including at the Argentine Embassy, Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Tango Mercurio, and Teatro de la Luna.

In 2024, Jessica moved to Cambridge, UK and is passionate about fostering an open and encouraging environment to learn Argentine Tango and grow together.

  • Absolutely! Our classes are for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or have been practicing for years. Jess offer guidance to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported. The class is perfect for beginners or those wishing to improve their tango fundamentals.

  • This class is open to dancers aged 12 and over. Whether you’re a teen or an adult, you’re welcome to join and enjoy the fun!

  • We recommend booking in advance to guarantee your place, as spots may be limited. Walk-ins are accepted when space is available.

  • Come in comfortable, stretchy clothes that let you move freely. Layers are great too, so you can stay cozy or cool as the class warms up. Feel free to wear any shoes you are comfortable in.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own water bottle if you’d like. Water is available.
